The West Coast Futbol Club's under nine boy's team won the 2007 California State Cup championship! Coerver training had an impact on their success!
During the 2006-07 soccer season I coached West Coast Futbol Club's under nine boys team. The boys were athletic and had an incredible desire to learn the "beautiful" game. I encouraged them to be creative on the soccer field with less focus on winning games or tournaments. "Coerver" training became a way of life for our team. We won the California State Championship competing with over 100 under 9 boys club teams from Santa Barbara to San Diego. Credit certainly goes to the boys who were already good soccer players when the team was formed. The Coerver method of coaching made the boys better, more creative players and made me a better coach after over 20 years of coaching club soccer.
By clicking on Coerver Method and Pyramid of Player Development, you can learn more about Coerver training methods, but in essence the philosophy is based on the premise that the game consists of sequences of play between 2, 3 and sometimes 4 players, in various parts of the field and that team success is determined by player performances in these exchanges. Players master multiple Coerver moves, but the practice with over 20 Coerver moves makes them more confident with the ball. Pro players all over the world were taught many Coerver moves that made them highly technical players who continue to use many Coerver moves throughout their careers.
There are numerous soccer camps in Southern California. We are certain camps sponsored by national and international soccer players are very good. However, Coerver camps have been operating since the mid seventies and there are now 244 licensees in Europe, South America, Asia and North America. Coerver training is considered to be the best in the world. We strive to be the best soccer camp for children in this area. The Coerver method will make your child a more technical and skillful player.
